About Alyssa Smith

Alyssa Smith is a fourth grade teacher at Berne-Knox-Westerlo Elementary School and a Curriculum Associates Extraordinary Educator™. She has taught in this rural district for 12 years, previously working in second and fifth grades. She attended Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, earning her B.S. in Psychology with dual certification in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities. She later received her M.S. from SUNY Albany, focusing on Literacy. Becoming an elementary teacher has always been Alyssa’s lifelong dream. She will always be a student and consistently seeks opportunities to enhance her teaching through district- and statewide professional learning programs.
